Vyasa International School - Fruit Breaks and Katha Sessions

When I heard of Vyasa International School, I decided to check out the school and it just brought up something interesting. It is a school of the Vyasa Educational and Charitable trust and the school is its first venture. They started the school in 2008.

Syllabus: CBSE
Location: Vyasa International School
Sy.No. 101/2, Doddabommasandra,
BEL North Gate,
Vidyranyapura Post,
Bangalore 560097

Phone: 080- 23454777, 96112 64686
Email: info@vyasa.edu.in
Website: http://www.vyasa.edu.in/ . The Website has lots of information about the culture of the school and faculty details as well.

Classes: Pre- KG to Class 9
Admissions: Based on test. The application form is available online.

Activities: Art, Dance, Theatre, Music, Culture, Yoga.

Remark: Construction is still going on and safety concerns are there. Though the gallery section was showing photos of the functions, I could see no school building. It is then I read up that the school building is being constructed and 130 children are studying there at present. Hope the school puts more safety measures in place.
Even if construction is one problem, the school building is on a land involved in legal dispute and which belong to BEL. So it remains to be seen if BBMP takes proper action.
So parents who do enquire, please check out. Also do check for affiliation to CBSE.

Apart from this, what I found interesting is the daily school schedule. The morning is the academic session and afternoon is cultural exploration. They have a fruit break and afternoons are filled with fun learning, katha sessions, mentoring, preparatory and potential exploration. They have mentoring programmes on Saturdays.

Teachers also do home visits and they have calibration methods. There are lots more and you could check out the site to know more.
Does anyone else know if they actually follow all that they have mentioned? If they do follow it surely is something good.

See all the explanations which was told were followed for the first year only. This year the standard is totally upset. No mentors no proper teachers and principal absolutely know which teacher is taking what subject in which class. I was very much unsatisfied with their standard this year.

What should be done without delay is give focus to the teachers by a good-teaching workshop where many practical facts could be aired.

Today i visit this school .. i have lots of comments

PRO -Sri - full of attitude ... Dont know how to communicate with parents.. she is totally busy with her own things.. and she has no clue what is telling parents... we are talking about education , she speaks about horse riding , karake ...
As a parents we are interested in academic also .. with cultural and sports activities ...

not other way round ...

after seeing class room ... students are not so comfortable... i felt they are not enjoying at all...

coming to fee - what is this security deposit of 25k..we are sending for precious kids there..
and they have no explanation for this fee.. they dont even tell what will be next year fee hike ..

they only speak about money ...it is just too high 70k .. all parents please before paying think about it ...

more over this is new school all experiments are going on with our kids... and we pay them so much more ...

Apart from fees being high, quality of teachers and the education imparted are not good. They collect high fees to build their infrastructure.

The school is done well with cent percent result for lass 10. I dot agree with comment that PRO is full of attitute. I felt she is very helpful and gives every parent sufficient time and very kind.

My son studied UKG their last year, I was very happy with their system. The pre school head Ms.Sameena really take care.

Every starting project will have up & down, But we parents have to inform them then only they will also get the feed back and change.

definitely teachers and even mz sameena have attitude problems there is no clarity in administration.in preschool everything goes by her hand and teachers are not independent.its more of corporeal sector rather than a school.curriculum is good but not the administration.

Preschool Head Samina has resigned and I also heard her daughter is also not comming to school. I have seen samina for last 3yrs and I want to thank her for teaching these young and tender kids good discipline. I am very sure preschool kids will miss there favourite teacher.

My children as studying there (in pre school) and enjoy going to school. As to the standard of education I havent compared with anything else although some pareents told me the standard of education in terms of how much a child learns is very low. Quiet happy with the per-school teachers and pre-school head. I am however not happy at all with the administrative functions especially the transport arrangement mess this year. The transport department are a bunch of liers and dont have any respect for parents.

Secondly, why are the school authorities not allowing parents inside the gate to bring their children back? Why is it that parents have to stand outside the gate (like untouchables) and wait for their children come running and fall down on the way? What if children come running and some stranger pretending to be the parent takes them away? Is this not just common sense?

I hope the school management takes care of these things if they ever wish for my kids to continue in school.

My son is studying from last 2 years. Iam not very happy with their teaching methodology.Ms.Sameena, who is pre-school head is really very bad and she never respect the parents. I don't know how she is working there. She always targets few students and discourage the parents and students.

I am writing this with 4 months teaching experience and 9 months experience in delaing with admin. The school is a good marketing company and below average in teaching.Teachers rush thro lessons at the rate of 2 to 3 subjects in a week and leave the students and parents to fend for themselves. There is an impartial treatement to all new students. The collect 70/80k for new students from 2011 but collect only 40k for old students since they patronised the new school. They also collect 2k from new students on admission. But they were not transparent during admission and clarify only when we ask them.To increase their income they force or pester students on field trips and the extracuricular activities.Unless they make the fee structure equal to all it is good we leave the school for the pre 2011 students only. This is true 100%.Think before you admit Clarify on the uniform admission fee.

Do not give the original birth certificate to school.. if you give it, you can be sure its gone. School says this is the CBSC rule to keep the original birth certificate, if you ask for the rule, instead of showing it they will say you have a bad attitude. As per the passport rules, you cant get a passport with out originla birth certificate if you are born after 1989. However the school belves the admini officer's letter will do the trick which is bullshit

This school is a big time bakwash, full politics, and the principal and one faculty mrs.sadhna they dont have any good work to do, simply they will be always talking and keep praising each other, more over miss. sadhna is a character less female, she has affair with the administrator and principle ,mrs.Deepanjali naik know about this affair , so sadhna like a pet dog always keep shaking her tail behind the principal. people dont ever get your kids get admitted in this school, because this school i sfull of politics , dirty and iliterate people, simply they say international, but nothing is like an international, ther are couple of teachers who cant even speak english , and dont know how many students are nlot able to .They are money minded people, The land on which this school is been constructed is also under dispute, some case and all is still going on, so please be careful before u get your child admit there.

Mrs. deepanjali naik is a big time stupid, she fights with teachers and also full of attitude, she has made a group of those people who can praise her always, and wherever she will go she will get accompanied by tghat group and that group will mover ther tail behind her like a pet dog. She also speak rude with parents, and every coming day she will get some calls which will threaten her , i donmt know, what crime she has commited, every day some or the other teacher get gfade up with her and leave the school, so if u want to survive in that school, u should know to do so called praising.

Deepanjali naik does not deserve to be a principle

let us all be professionals and not gossip mongars. Without knowing who is what we should never speak.... And let me remind the person who ever has written the Jan 14th comment, this was a blog created to know how the academics of the school is and not anything else...... Lets respect our teachers than the society will be clean... if the person whoever has written could come out and point out the fault that would be appreciated.

We have been seeing the Principal and the teacher mentioned from past 3 yrs and we have been frequently visiting as well but such incidents have never been seen......

with regards to the school the school is improving and even they have good teachers. This is my own experience.

Lets improve the society.......

I HAVE SEEN IRRELEVANT COMMENTS IN THIS COLUMN.COMMENTS MADE ON 14 JAN ARE BASELESS I BELIEVE.TO SPREAD THE GOSSIPS ABOUT CHARACTERS SHOWS THE CHEAP MENTALITY WITH VESTED INTERESTS.MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS SCHOOL SINCE 3YRS IS VERY GOOD.I HAVE RECOMMENDED 6 OF MY FRIENDS TO JOIN VYASA.

I agree that this blog is to enable people to review academic efficiency of the school and must be used for that alone. As I know there were and still are some teething problems as in any new venture but the entire team of teachers are putting in their best efforts to overcome the same. All the best to the team of teachers and carry on the excellent work you have been doing. Ignore the comments of mentally sick animals as one need not respond to a barking dog/bitch. I am sure this will put the coward animal who has posted 14th Jan post in it's place.

The school is very good and lot of admissions have happened during the time of Gururaj Karjagi, in the recent times there is lot of change in teachers, heads, administrators because of which it is spoiling the name of the school, My requst to the school authorities is as your are charging huge fees kindly appoint good Teachers, heads and administrators so that they will not spoil the reputation of the school and its students..

My kid studies Vyasa and she enjoy's going to school. The kids enjoy mainly because of the teachers, they are putting great effort in making the children comfortable.

Contrary to the teachers the administration seems to be quite insensitive in building the trust and faith among the parents.

The annual day for pre-school showed two facets of the school.

The kids and teachers had done their best for their performances, but the arrangements were very poor.

The stage was too low for anybody to see anything. All the parents were standing and some were standing on the chairs.

There was no power backup so when electricity went off the show could not continue. Although the electricity came back soon avoiding a embarrassing situation.

A photographer was arranged by school but parents were not sure if CD of the function would be given, so there was a mad rush to capture the photos/videos of their kids performances.

There was no vote of thanks for the children, teachers and the choreographers for their efforts.

These small things if taken care could have made the program a grand success.

There are such instances in administration that does not give confidence to the parents that the school will improve in future.

As a parent i would love my kid to continue where they have own circle of friends and the teachers are caring and good at their job.

I wish some responsible person from the administration or management looks into all the feedback at different forum and takes corrective measures. We would really like the school to come up well and establish itself

I completely agree. How can the stage be below the seating chairs? This is common sense which I know for sure is very uncommon for vyasa administrators.

Pre-school head Mrs. Sameena was very good (disciplined, straight-forward and caring). The teachers are also very good that the children love coming to school.

The chairman has a great vision but it is very unlikely that his current school admistrators can help realize that.

There is also no way for us to share our feedback with the chairman as his email id is not available anywhere - even in the letter he sent asking for support his email id is not available. The trasport arrangements last year were also pathetic. The overall adminstration in no way justifies the fees charged.

I see a few changes happening in Vyasa now. The Admin staff are warm and welcoming. They are also promising that we would see a good improvement from this year. Lets hope for the best. I have my child continuing this year also

I agree with the above comment. There are certainly changes and hopefully things will be much better this year.

Its great going with Vyasa. Their huge auditorium is going to be used for badminton, basketball etc., They are also going to train their teachers and improvise on their teaching standards. The director herself has stepped in, though late but better late than never. My children are continuing this year too and I definitely see a possible change taking place. All the best Vyasites... Looking forward to have a memorable experience.
