Another new school starting off in Bangalore for June 2010 is Radcliffe School. And this is in addition to the slew of schools opening on Bannerghatta Road. They are going to open 150 schools over the next few years. Let's see how it gets going. They proclaim, you don't need to send your kids to tution anymore. That's something. They have an intelligent learning delivery model called IntelligeX.

Looks like a well-balanced school. Anyone has views about their other branches?
Its very difficult to comment on these schools as they are starting all over india only on next academic year. Every new school which is started are making lot of promises...we need to wait and watch. Education system in India is really on a major revolution. CBSE/ICSE schools are being started now in tier-3 towns and more and more schools are entering into CBSE/ICSE curriculum. Need to see how the CBSE/ICSE boards are going to manage their quality with high volumes.
ReplyDeletethats something id they are saying the kids dont have to go for tutions anymore!
ReplyDeletetheya re affiliated to cbse? in that case arent they supposed to follow the ncert text books? they speak of a separate set of textbooks for themselves, how is that possible??
nisha
CBSE has now become very flexible making it less stressful for the kids.
ReplyDeleteIt is possible for a school to have their set of books till grade 7. The only condition being that the school needs to follow the curriculum on the framework set by the cbse. You are absolutely right on asking about the NCERT books. This is applicable only from grade 8 and the books used by the school till grade 8 should be in sync with the NCERT syllabus.
its nice to know...
ReplyDeletehave they got the affiliation yet? any feedback on the schools already started by this group?? how long had they been in the business?
when its a new school, most of them has some teethign trouble... hope this school has some well prepared plans
nisha
the website says that "The recognition of the School is in process. It is a proposed Senior Secondary School to be affiliated to CBSE, with NCERT as the curriculum guideline."
ReplyDeleteneed to think.
in case want to switchover to different school will it be possible if recognition is not in place? any inputs?
ReplyDeleteSwitchover of schools is not a problem if you have got admission. Actually if a school has 10th,then you may be sure it has got affiliation. ICSE affiliation is only for 10th std onwards.
ReplyDeletesounds very dicey becuase they are an arm of the Rai Foundation which was stripped off its university title by the sumpreme court
ReplyDeletehow Cum v can decide a school to join wen there are so less CBSE schools.............
ReplyDeleteRadicliffe, a brand new school & the culture is not formed yet.
ReplyDeleteAdmission was confirmed for one of my friends' child. When the parents enquired clarification reg. certain things, instead of providing clarification, the management talked rudely, saying 'Don't Join Your Kid, here.'
As it's a new school, its so common for anyone to re-check/re-confirm certain things like bus route & pick-up/drop points. But the management says, its confidential/secret & they can't give it. Many schools not only in banagalore, any city in india are displaying their bus routes & pick-up/drop points on the notice boards and/or providing a printed list, if someone asks for the same.
Re-Think before considering RadCliffe, Bangalore.
From the data I have collected, Radcliffe is really picking up well. The school is having about 250 children, which I feel is a good start for a new school. My friend's daughter is studying there and they are very happy with the curriculum which includes academics as well as extra-curricular activities. They have about 8-10 activity classes in a week, which is really good. Since their first academic year is going to get over, I think parents can give a try, as many established schools have strarted like this. Another advantage is it is a CBSE school.
ReplyDeletemy child is studying in this school since the last academic year. after reading the comments above, i too am worried about the rai foundation link, but otherwise, am quite happy with the school. yeah, they are having problems with the transportation still, so u need to get things clear before u join (get it in writing if possible ). but wrt academics, it has much less work load when compared to the other schools around. am happy my kid is learning things the fun way. if you are looking for a school which teaches the child a lot in a short time, this is not the school for u. but if u want your child to play n learn, perhaps this is better than most other schools.
ReplyDeletei dont know how things will shape up to be, but the last year everything was the way i wished it to be. their tie up with edu sports, regular health checkups for the kids, emphasis on overall development, and above all, am so thankful, there wasnt much homework :)
my only complaint is regarding the transportation. they still have a long way to go with that.
hi
ReplyDeleteim seeking admission in radcliff, just worried about the affliation, plz let me know d progress.
thanks
HI THIS RADCLIFF IS SCHOOL IS WORST SCHOOL IN THE BANGALORE . LAST YEAR I ADMITTED MY DAUGHTER . TILL FIRST SEMISTER WAS OK AFTER THAT PROBLEM STARTED BECAUSE OF PRINCIPAL CHANGE,AND FROM PAST 2MONTH THERE IS NO SUBJECT TEACHER.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteMy son is studying in one CBSE school in Bangalore, the school has hiked the fee almost 100% in 4 years. And now I feel the fee we are paying is not worth so looking for a new school.
Plz help me find a right school, here are my requirements:
- Areas pref: Around bannerghata
- Sylabus: preferable CSBE
- Fee: Ready to pay upto 50,000 including transportation
Considering all these, Radcliffe is looking the right match, but before finalizing I would like to have comments, thoughts from experts on this.
Regards,
Sanjay
dear sanjay,
ReplyDeletemy son is going to radcliffe school for the past 2 years.. i would have blindly suggested u this school had it been a couple of months back.. as the person above said, everythign was going fine till the principal changed... ever since, theres some politics going on i suppose... teachers are dropping out, but the activities are still going on... the competitions and all are in full swing... they celebrated science week last month and it was fun... i dont know how it will turn out to be as we are yet to bite the bitter core.. i'd suggest u to wait for another couple of months before u join... so far, i found the school giving equal importance to studies and games... things were being taught the play way... many things happening... experiments letting the kids learn faster... all these being there, there'd still be a note of caution considering the current situation. there is panic gripping, lets see if the management respond to tht. if they dont, drop the idea... if they do... go ahead... waiting another couple of months wouldnt hurt, would that? :) (and dont worry, i dont think u will be denied admission even if its late)
about fees, its good enough... and till date, i think i am getting value for money.. now lets see how it spans out to be... so my suggestion would be to wait for a little more... if u are interested, i'll keep u updated... let me know

Anybody knows how much they charge for daycare in Radcliffe Bangalore?
ReplyDeleteis there pick up for purva panorama from radcliffe school...can u pls tell abt the teachers in jr.kg sec...
ReplyDeleteI am currently shifted to Navi Mumbai, and looking for admission for my two daughters (Std 5th & Jr. Kg. Recently visited the raddcliffe school in belapur. It is in a commercial building. Can anyone let me know wether the school has a playground. Also let me know if I should get some specific info from the school before opting to take addmission. How in general the school is.
ReplyDeleteA positive point I found was there is no need to pay the one time admission fees, even if you are transferred to Raddcliffe in another city. Has anyone done this before in raddcliffe
ReplyDeletei'd still say... wait... lots of panic there... kids are moving out.. there had been a visit from the management, but doesnt seem to have worked out well... the school doesn't have a principal right now... things will have to take a turn from here.. either for the good or for the worst... don't take a hasty decision before that... and please please don't fall into the trap of the marketing person there.. she is quite good at speaking her way through and will get u convinced so well.. but i bet, she wont be anything near what u saw of her before admission once the child is admitted there. am keeping my fingers crossed... my kid is still there...

wrt pick up, yes they have pick up anywhere in the city. a promise made so that not a single kid goes off without taking admission. purva is pretty near, so i think it wont be too long a journey. but there had been quite a few complaints regarding the transportation as they go long winding ways. initially i was offered almost a point to point kind of time in the bus for my kid. but later it turned out to be 5-6 times that. but now its a lot better... may be 2 to 2.5 times that, and yes, have to live with it when settling in for school transport anywhere. but only thing is not to get carried away with their initial promise... better enquire in the neighborhood or watch when the bus is reaching there
ReplyDeleteAll, Above reviews are really good to make decisions for me since i was considering Radcliffe also one of the option. I am moving to Bangalore during May 2012 and looking for good schools for 1st grade admission for my son.
ReplyDeleteLooks like All near by good schools are done with admission. Thinking of considering Ryan Bannerghatta road. Any feedback on Ryan ??
Ryan B'ghatta Road is not a good option.Try for Podar Interantional or Sherwood High(Both ICSE).In case u want a CBSE school you can try for BVM global.
ReplyDeleteConsidering Ryan Bannerghatta after Radcliffe would be like moving from "devil to deep sea". Ryan has inferior quality teachers with inadequate experience. Some of them are housewives without any experience to handle large number of kids and just hanging out there to earn some easy bucks. School has taken the excessive load of ICSE syllabus to the extreme extent possible due to basic ignorance about how kids learn.
ReplyDeleteLet me put my views here to help guys seeking admission to Radcliffe.
ReplyDeleteMy ward is going to school since its inception, so this was second year. Now First year was fantastic except for few minor glitch here and there (common for new schools). Second year has turned out to be a disaster.
4-5 class/subject teachers has changed yet, 3 principals have changed. The last one did not even had manners to speak with parents.(she is gone though).
Now due to all this; new teachers have burden to finish the syllabus on time and they are just doing it for name sake. They come, write on board and ask student to copy. Sports class happens on any random day; as it happens when ever a subject teacher is missing. So sports is more of a way to compensate for lack of teacher.
Now considering that kids were not working like this since start; they find it hard to complete and lack behind.
Response from school on phone has dropped as well. I recently had a chat with the founder from Delhi (she visited the school), and she expressed her disappointment in the way things were handled and assured us that it will change. Its been over a month since than and I do not really see much changed.
But what surprised me is; how come teachers left in mid session; don't they have some contract with them.
So those willing to admit their kids; take a note of this.
Regarding marketing person in radcliff(I dont want to put her name here) I remember she used to put so many good posts about the school last year. When we approached the school she was talking soo nicely that anybody will send their kids to this school. But After my kid was admitted there and school classes commenced she never responded to us. She had given us her phone number. But she never picks up the phone. We felt so offended with her behavior.
ReplyDeleteIts a worst experience i have faced with this school, i admitted my child with lot of hopes but i am repenting now. At the time of admission, they said lot of positive things, but none of them has been fulfilled. Almost 4 principals are changed , lack of teachers... management is instable... atleast from this academic year management should provide lot of attention & gain the confidence of parents to progress further.
ReplyDeleteHow is baby sitting facility in Radcliff? Anybody kept your baby there? How much do they charge for same?
ReplyDeleteAll,
ReplyDeleteRadcliffe School is one of the WORST schools in the South Bangalore. They don't have even sufficient staff to take care of Students. The School Principal is not responding at all. I have seen kids moving here and there without taking permission from Teachers. Even teachers are not bothered to take care of Students. My Son told me that there is no water in the school and some times they had to finish there food without washing hands. PLEASE DON'T PUT FUTURE OF UR KIDS IN THE WRONG HANDS. Think 1000 times before getting into that school. This is my experience and Observation. You can go and see the fact.
I would like to share some most dangerous facts about Radcliffe. My son is studying since start of school. I am looking for options for changing the school.
ReplyDelete1. Principals are thrown out, if target of admissions is not met. School was without any principal for more than 6 months. New principal introduced near the start of admission season.
2. Around 15 principals removed nation-wide for not meeting admission targets.
3. Management is non-responsive.
4. Additional services are being introduced with charges and are being made mandatory.
5. Many teachers got changed. I guess teachers are not being paid properly.
6. Books are glossy hence very heavy to be carried in the school bag.
7. Almost no home-work.
8. Worst transportation. It takes around 1.5 to 2 hours for one way journey of 7 KM.
9. Teaching / Non-Teaching Staff speaks regional language /Hindi. Does not seem comfortable with English.
10. No updates from school about CBSE affiliation.
Consider above issues before thinking about Radcliffe. None of above mentioned issues are exaggerated.
Radcliffe Kolkata is still being run from a Residential Building. They tell the parents that Radcliffe Bangalore is affiliated to CBSE and soon all the Schools will be affiliated. They dont even have a building of thier own. Bus fees have been increased to Rs 2000/- which is higher than most Schools. ARE ANY OF THEIR SCHOOLS AFFILIATED ??? THE CBSE WEBSITE DOES NOT SHOW ANY RADCLIFFE SCHOOL HAS PERMANENT AFFILIATION.
ReplyDeletePrincipal is worst in Radcliffe, bangalore. I had some query, so was following up with her. She was so damn rude and she did not even know who is handling what in the school. She is sick, though other pre-primary teachers are good and friendly.
ReplyDeleteFriends, I have seen their Navi Mumbai property and really I got impressed. I have searched reviews for Radcliffe, Belapur, Navi Mumbai school but could not locate any. Can any parent having experienced Radcliffe Mumbai share views and can pls. suggest me whether I should consider school for my daughter or not for 2nd std. They told me that current classes are upto 8th but the plan is for 10+2. Again got impressed by their extra curricular activities. Fees I think is OK but not aware of CBSE affiliation. Pls. need some advice.- Amit
ReplyDeleteIt is dec 2012...those who had meeting with faculy from Delhi and other parents can you please suggest if you are seeing some improvment or it is still same...
ReplyDeletehi all,
ReplyDeletecan anyone please clarify about the cbse affiliation number of Radcliffe school, as i was unable to find the same.
also please give me a detailed review about their learning mode, so called IntelligeX. please feel free to give open opinions about the school as well at the earliest. howz the current scenario of the radcliffe school in blore? does it show any improvement in resolving the past issues or still the same?
please reply...........
No news about the affiliation, but the turmoil is going on.. in Bangalore
ReplyDeleteFolks, don't spoil your kids future by putting them in Radcliffe - Bangalore.... With new Principal on board, we hoped that things will improve this year... However, situation is back to square one.... During recent PTM, teachers are informing every parent about non-payment of the salaries for more than 3 Months. The reason they are citing to the teachers is that 'fees is not being paid by majority of the students'. I find this compeltely ridiculous as even the Fee Payment scheduled is shifted to 1 Month in advance. Moving away from money aspects, the syllabus (in reference to UKG/Blossoms) is very ordinary... Compared to many schools in Bangalore, it is a lower than simple syllabus. Lastly, Rs.500/- per month charged towards online publication of details of the student is a classic example of day light looting... No one ever bothers to updates majority of the details on the website.... Due to the big mess within the school, they even decided to cancel the upcoming annual day (originally planned for 2nd February 2013)
ReplyDeleteI got sick of these things for last 2 years and now planning to change my child to either Sherwood or Chaithanya Techno school
With so many schools round the corner it is the right time to move. Do it fast or admissions will close elsewhere.
ReplyDeletecould some one suggest the schools on Bannerghata road where the admissions are currently going on?
ReplyDeletethe situation is getting worse day by day!
Dear parents,
ReplyDeleteMy child was studying in Radcliffe Nagpur. The management did not pay the rent of the building for three months, the teachers were not being paid the salary and suddenly one day, they closed the school. when we spoke to Amit Rai of Radcliffe, he was not ready to respond. Now the radcliffe nagpur is shut. So BEWARE parents before putting your childs future in their hands
Dear All,
ReplyDeleteSince the inception of this Radcliffe School on Bannergatta road. They are not able to provide their CBSE affliation No. When ever we approch the school authorites, the same answer.. Its on move. in another months of time.?... Are they really doing to get something in this context. My child is been taxed for the unwamted books & sports day function. No proper management, I hear that since three months Teachers are not yet received their salary still now?........I dont know what the future of Radclife on banergatta road?.... I have applied for TC for my child. They are charging Rs.500 per tc too. I heard?....Whats up next?.....
We have had troubles with transportation, with teachers leaving last year (but I was luckier this year, my child had the same teacher all through), not conducting the annual day (but we had a sports day). Bud we still did have school picnics, festival celebrations, other competitions etc. We had many kids scoring sub 100 ranks internationally in the (1st level) Olympiad exams. Isn't that a result we should give a thought about? As much as we are bothered about the negatives, let us not totally turn a blind eye to the efforts taken. Those teachers deserve a pat on the back for pulling it through in spite of all the troubles.

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI am a parent of a kid studying in the school ever since the school started. And about the school, I’d again say, the first year was excellent, the second was worst and the third, i.e. the current year is more or less OK. Yes, I agree there are lots of troubles and many times I have contemplated changing the school too. But on second thoughts, is that a solution? Could we find a school (in South Bangalore) that is any better? Any which school comes with its own set of troubles. And after two years and three schools changed, how much more can we put our kids through? I am not scaling down the worries we have, but lets face it – it is going to be taxing to change the school – financially, physically and emotionally… and more than all, its going to be a huge amount of stress on the kid. (And after all that, do we get that ‘perfect school’?? Let the lucky ones answer.)
Well as we (the parents) are worried about the issues at school, I'd still like to point to a few good things that happened this year
1) There had been many competitions and though the annual day wasn't celebrated this year, they had a special assembly and the prices were distributed.
2) The photos are regularly updated on facebook And they did have a class photo session for a keepsake.
3) They DONT charge anything for the online service where the SMS is sent to the parents the moment they know the child is absent from school and also updates the parents of any home works and tests. (This had been the case with all the parents i am in touch with, none of them paid any monthly fee as some one mentioned above.)
4) They just got the NOC from the government and that, surely, is a baby step forward. (Let’s hope they’d work for the CBSE affiliation soon too.)

Worst decision to send my son to radcliffe, bannerghatta. my son is de-moralised, made to believe that he is weak, frequent change of teachers. This school has almost ruined one year of my son.
ReplyDeleteBe careful, not to fall in the trap at the time of admission. The school marketing team makes you feel that there cannot be a better school other than radcliffe for your child and you fall in the trap....
horrible school...I feel bad that i spoiled 2 years of my kid by taking admission in this school.. We have seen 6 principal in 3 years. My daughter is in grade 1 and have seen 3 class teacher in 1 year. Everytime you go to complaint you meet a new teacher and top of that new principal.
ReplyDeleteIn annual sport day school was more concentrating on selling 10rs chips packet at @20, froot packet @20 and other stuff instead of concentrating on arranging annual sports day properly.
I will regret the decision throuhout my life.
When we first visited school when my daughter was in lkg school was good in first year..and then suddenly everything has changed.. now its no more school...
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
Horrible school. Without knowing about Rai foundation, I had put my kids there and we are reaping all the worst things that can happen. Staff including bus drivers are not paid regularly or atleast with many months dues as the Delhi management takes all the money. Frequent change of teachers, bus issues even after three years, water mostly not coming in the toilet and unhygienic toilets - my kids fear to use the toilets most of the days and complain of stomach pains. We did not even have an annual day and no reason has been given. I understand that already 3 Radcliffe schools have been closed and I wonder when Bangalore will be closed. The future of the children has been completely spoilt by Rai Foundation and I am sure that they will get punished for their wrong doing.
ReplyDeleteAll, Above reviews are really good to make decisions for me since i was considering Radcliffe also one of the option..after cancelling my kid's admission in RYAN in mid session only.because on the 1st day of school(nursery)my kids class teacher forgot to open the tiffin.she was carving for food from 8am to 2pm and when she arrived at home her dress was full of su-su9seems she have done 2-3 times urination) .nobady even change her dress even when we send the extra set of dress in bag.
ReplyDeleteCOULD ANYBODY SUGGEST the schools on BENNARGHATTA ROAD where the admissions are currently going on?
Worst School..Management Problems .So many Principal and teachers change. Please parents think 100 times ,before admitting your child in Radcliffe. Horrible Experience.
ReplyDeletemy god .....aftr reading all cmnts im worried for my kid still he is in Radcliffe school jaipur.....there is problem of transportation ..school building is on rent ..new school building is 15 KM from home and management staff is irresponsible.....what to do....so keen to change the school soon...............
ReplyDeleteComments are a real eye opener. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences.
ReplyDeleteAny updates on this school? Are things good with the school? Please help. Also, what is the fees for 1st standard?
ReplyDeleteI am planning to admit my 3 kids to Radcliffe, Belapur, Navi Mumbai branch, But after reading the comments above I am totally confused. I am anyway going tomorrow to recheck the school and finalize on the admissions. Can anyone give feedback on the School at CBD Belapur? they claim that the building is owned by them and they are planning to open new building in Kharghar, though the construction is still on, I have checked my self today, but i am still not sure if i should opt for this school. Please share any experience if you have on this CBD Belapur branch. Thanks
ReplyDeleteDear Sir,
DeleteHave you enrolled your kids? I am planning to enrol my kid for jr KG next year. Would really appreciate if you could share some feedback. Thanks.
Can somebody tell if the Bengaluru Radcliffe got improved or its as same as last year??
ReplyDeleteNo improvement in Radcliffe. PARENTS BEWARE - They are going to lose their CBSE affiliation.
ReplyDeleteFrom the last 2 years - 2015 and 2016 the Principal has changed and 40% of teachers have gone and changed.
There are plenty of issues with the infrastructure which was promised and never done. the most grievous are their toilets. 2 parents of girls have had medical issues because of bad toilet.
There are 12 complaints against this school in CBSE pending right now. They only got the affiliation recently. But i think they will lose this soon.
Parents beware!!!
Horrible school, they just loot money. No standards, no discipline, from aya to teachers to principal lot of attitude. They do not give respect. No education, teachers communication was pathetic....
