One of the oldest schools in Bangalore is Baldwin Girls High School. The Methodist Episcopal School was started under the Methodist Church in 1878. They were renamed Baldwins after a grant from John Baldwin of USA. The Girls school separated from the Baldwin Boys school in 1903 to function separately. The Baldwin Womens Methodist College is attached to it.

Remarks: Compared to Baldwin Boys school, many of my friends prefer the girls school. Teaching is very good in primary classes.I don't know about the higher classes, but the school has maintained its standard.
Update: After writing this post and after some months I got feedback from friends that Baldwin Girls is good enough only for Primary and many parents tend to withdraw girls as they proceed to higher classes. Some of them have been citing peer groups oriented towards more mature attitudes.
Any idea, when the new admission will start for 2010-2011.
